The San Jose Sharks vs the Anaheim Ducks... What happened?

On September 24, 2026, the San Jose Sharks routed the Anaheim Ducks 10-0 at the SAP Center, a margin rarely seen in the NHL.
The result is even more surprising given that the teams faced off four days earlier, when the Ducks won 6-2. Since then, both clubs have struggled against other opponents, losing every game.
What happened?
The Sharks sent their regular season players (including Macklin Celebrini, Will Smith and Mason Marchment). However, the Ducks had a lineup formed mostly of players from the American Hockey League (AHL). That clash in experience on ice resulted in the flamboyant win of the home team.
Good news for the Ducks fans, it was only pre-season so no points lost here!
